Paolo Brambilla, TUTTO QUELLO CHE MAI TI DIRÒ (ALL THAT I WILL NEVER TELL YOU)

Bells are both an instrument of information and of over-information. They act as a means of mass communication, sending out a message to the community and cadencing daily time, giving habits and determining attitudes. Because of their structure, however, they are also a paradoxical tool, as they contrast the excess of information provided by the sound reverberation with the limitation of tonal extension. Paolo Brambilla has taken these characteristics to extremes: over-information and loss of data have been translated into a music score written by the artist from a concert already performed by the bells of Edolo. Each time the composition is played, due to the specific characteristics of the instrument, it inevitably changes, moving away from the intention of the original information.
