Marija Sévic, CULTURENONSTOP

Artistic culture is a gift to the city that would like to express itself at all hours of the day and night, without borders. A need to which Contexto has given voice for the third year (2017) and which the Serbian artist’s work has interpreted perfectly. Made and exhibited for the first time in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, it was designed to use irony to denounce the closure of the Museum, which had been denying its beauty for too many years. This luminous sign was then presented in a reversal of its initial meaning, not to denounce, but to celebrate the possibility of admiring from close up the splendid Liberty building next to the city station and to mark the start of the new edition of Contexto, which started from this rediscovered beauty and wound its way through the city.
