Francesco Poroli, THE TRIUMPH OF CHERRIES

«They produce all kinds of tart cherries and sweet cherries, both domestic and wild, in such abundance that they sometimes transport more than sixty wagons in a single day through the city gates; from mid-May to almost mid-July they are sold in the city at all hours».

Cherries are the representation of the city’s wealth, where every day, in the right season, more than sixty carts of them could be transported. Francesco Poroli recounts a key passage of the text and has chosen to realise his project with the participation of a number of students, whose crowding into the rooms of Casa Testori for the staging has restored the ferment of the market of Milan described by Bonvesin.
